what makes us different

HARD SKILLS vs SOFT SKILLS

Bodyguard vs Executive Protection Specialist

In our industry, there’s always this ongoing debate: some professionals say hard skills are what really matter—that’s what you’re paid for. Others say it’s the soft skills that keep you close to the client in the long run.

From my own experience, I’d say being a Concierge Service Specialist is something every security professional must add to their skillset as a must-have—not a luxury, not an optional bonus, but a requirement if you want to play this game at the highest level.

Concierge Service Specialist: Going Beyond Protection

Being a concierge service specialist means going the extra mile in your responsibilities. It’s not just about keeping a client safe, but also about keeping them happy.

Some professionals will argue:

“I’m hired to protect my client, not entertain them. I’m not a clown.”

To that I say: Well, obviously, you’re new to the game.

Because being a good concierge service specialist means you know people—and people know you. When you can solve problems and remove pain points for your client, you save them the hassle of needing two people for two roles. With you, they get two-in-one: protection and facilitation. And trust me, that speaks volumes about your professionalism, your lifestyle, and your self-development outside the shooting range and the gym.

A Real Case: Two Weeks in Greece & Beyond

Recently, we were on a mission that lasted two weeks.

We started in Athens, where we managed a 114 ft motor yacht charter for our client, and by managing means, thinking on every little one detail such as a client’s company branded welcoming carpet prior embarkation, so lets not spending time of mentioning all other normal basic things. From there we cruised through the Greek islands—Mykonos, Ios, Paros, Santorini—each step carefully orchestrated not just for safety but for exclusivity and enjoyment. And then also flying to other country, and managing a privaste flights for our client as well.

In all the places, we had local contacts supporting us. Thanks to those relationships, we were personally able to secure the best tables at clubs and restaurants—even when those same venues told others, “sorry, not available.”

We had aerial medevac on call, luxury Maybach vans for ground transport, and for my client’s 10-year anniversary, the best view and table on the entire island. That wasn’t luck—it was concierge-level planning.

The Difference: Access & Social Dynamics

Here’s a detail most people miss: in places as Mykonos, St.Tropez, etc. local rules usually forbid bodyguards from standing by their client’s table. If you’re not local, you’re simply told “no.” Security professionals are treated as outsiders. But in our case? We were welcomed as if it were our own house. Why? Because of relationships. Because of connections. Because we don’t act as outsiders—we integrate.

Another example: if a client books a table for 6 and you ask for an additional table nearby for 2 bodyguards, you’ll almost always get rejected. But with us, not only were bodyguards seated next to the client, they were also provided food and drinks without minimum spend requirements. That’s not about luck—it’s about knowing how to communicate, announce your client’s arrival, and manage the perception of value.

Private Aviation & The Monaco Chapter

After Greece, we moved into private flying logistics—booking three private jets to Nice, Milan, and Tirana.

Every flight included discounts (10% commission + 5% corporate rate applied back to the client). And here’s the truth: for some people in this business, making €30k in one task today is more important than making a lpng-lasting relationship. That’s the sad reality of those who worship money as their only God. Long-term trust and ethics? They can’t even comprehend it.

Back to the story.

24 hours after landing in Nice, spending our first day in Monaco, the client wanted to go to La Guérite – Cannes. They called directly, offered €50,000 for a table, and were refused. Refused! Told the first available table was on September 1st.

That’s when connections we talked about came into play. This time the connection was not ours, but still, the point we are making here, is to know the right people sometimes makes more difference in client eyes, then how fast you can shoot (as the most protection tasks in Europe are unarmed anyway). The next thing was to secure a boat transfer. Sorted. Charter a boat from Monaco to the island. Again—handled in five minutes, at a massive discount.

Day by day, this mission wasn’t just about protection. It was about interaction with people who provided our client with services out of our scope of responsibility, it was about proper operational planning, risk and threat assessment, advanced security, and simultaneously ensuring my client had the best experience—always.

Bodyguard vs Executive Protection Specialist

Now let me ask you:

Would any of this have been possible with a standard bodyguard—someone who has no connections, no concierge service skills, and no cultivated network outside of the protection conferences and gun ranges?

This is the difference:

  • A bodyguard provides protection.
  • An executive protection specialist with concierge skills provides everything: peace of mind, safety, seamless experiences, and access others simply can’t get.

We don’t just provide protection. We provide ALL.

How We Operate Always, No Matter What

We do not do solo operational tasks. Even if we provide service for a couple only, we always employ additional local support.

Why?

With experience, we have witnessed tremendous advantages for the client itself when working in pairs.

We do advance security even if it is only two hours prior to arriving at some location—be it clubs, restaurants, or other venues. We check the right table that is given, verify emergency exits and halls, toilets, and where the first aid kits are located. We establish contact with the manager for white-glove service, and even arrange passage through the kitchen and “staff only” zones if necessary.

We check the vendors to see if they are prepared and positioned correctly, the vehicles that wait for the client onshore, whether they are set up properly with all necessary details, and if the drivers are aware of the routes. If there is time, we will even run one more route recce.

All of this is done with one member, while the other remains with the client at all times. After joining together again, they act as one. One informs the other, and they are ready to execute anything.

Having additional local support, not only because of language barriers but also for connections, is something that has helped us countless times in resolving problems.

Bellow you can find an example of advance security (preparation and operational planning) prior to arrival at a site. This will clearly show why it is crucial for your safety and seamless experience to have someone preparing everything for your arrival—not only from a security perspective, but also for your overall best experience.

We do not opearate without proper Operational Planning and Prior Yacht Risk and Threat Assessment and briefing with the Crew

Notice Yacht Risk & Threat Assessment We conduct an in-depth assessment of the yacht before your arrival. From greeting protocols to

Positive Interaction With the Captain & Crew

Another key part of our work is maintaining good, positive interaction with the captain and crew — always respectful, but balanced with professional distance.

We step in when it is necessary for the safety of the client — that is always the first priority. But to go the extra mile, we also act as the middleman between the captain and the client to ensure everything runs smoothly. This takes pressure off the captain, avoids unnecessary conflicts, and ensures the client’s experience remains seamless.

Sometimes this means diplomatically handling scheduling issues, sometimes it means making sure the crew understand the client’s wishes without the client needing to repeat themselves. In every case, our role is to quietly manage the flow, protect the client’s image, and make sure that the environment around them stays secure and enjoyable.

What Makes Us Truly Different

One thing that definitely makes us special—and different from others—is having a wide range of operatives whose skills allow us to minimize the client’s costs on team size, while still delivering maximum value. In other words, you get multiple specialists in one.

For example:

  • A person who is also a trained paramedic (as we discussed previously).

  • A person who is power boat certified and who protects you even in water, while you enjoying your water sport activities
  • A person who can teach you diving.
  • A person with knowledge of maritime law, holding STCW95 and SSO certification.
  • A person who has lived through real-life threatening scenarios and can bring that calm, tested experience into the mission.
  • A bodyguard who is also An evasive driving trained driver

Superyachts in High-Risk Waters In a world where hotter is usually considered better, the yachting set head to warmer climes

This kind of multifunctional skillset means fewer people, less logistical burden, lower cost for the client—yet more capability and readiness on the ground. That is a rare standard in our industry, but it is something we take pride in delivering.

Lets Not Forget About Image

First impressions are everything. From the very first moment you shake hands with the manager of a house, a club, or a yacht, they see your client through you.

Your appearance, your manners, your confidence, your network — all of it reflects directly on the client. Their standard of living, their level of wealth, their influence, is often judged by the standard of the people surrounding them.

If you arrive looking sloppy, unprepared, or like a “regular bodyguard,” that image sticks to your client. You lower them without even realizing it. But if you present yourself sharp, cultured, articulate, and professional — not only as security but as a gentleman who belongs in that environment — the client’s image rises.

This is why self-development outside the shooting range and gym matters so much. It’s about lifestyle. It’s about knowing fine dining etiquette, how to communicate with managers and owners, how to move in high-society environments with ease. It’s about being respected, recognized, and remembered.

At the end of the day, image isn’t just about looks — it’s about representation. You are an extension of your client. And when you carry yourself with that responsibility in mind, doors open faster, problems get solved smoother, and the client enjoys not just protection, but prestige.
